The platform choice is the easy part.

The hard part is the data model that runs on it, the governance that holds it together, and the operating function that keeps it from drifting. Pivotree’s PIM and MDM consulting practice helps you make all three calls—the platform, the model, and the people-and-process around them—before the procurement decision becomes irreversible.

Set up your implementation for success.

Most PIM and MDM projects don’t fail because the platform was wrong. They fail because the model under the platform was rushed, the governance organization was an afterthought, and nobody was on the hook for the operation after go-live. Strategy work means scoping all three before you commit to a multi-year platform marriage.

PIM/MDM Readiness Assessment

Are you ready for an implementation? We benchmark the current data estate, the organizational design, and the change-management capacity against what a successful PIM or MDM implementation actually requires.

MDM Strategy

Multi-week engagement that produces the master data architecture, governance model, and operating cadence for your enterprise. Covers product, customer, supplier, location, and hierarchy domains, depending on scope.

MDM/PIM Design—Blueprint

The integrated architecture for organizations whose master data and product data have to span the same system. Single blueprint covering both domains, plus the data flow between them.

Product Data Assessment

When the question is narrower—product data only, ahead of a PIM implementation or replatform. Full taxonomy, attribute, and channel-readiness analysis with a recommended target-state model.

Let’s figure out the next step together.

Every PIM/MDM strategy engagement includes:

Platform-agnostic recommendations.

If a platform recommendation is part of the engagement, it's the right one for your operation. We operate on most major PIM and MDM platforms in the market.

A defensible target-state model.

Data architecture, taxonomy, governance, and operating cadence, captured in a deliverable you can put in front of a board, a CFO, or a new CTO without re-explaining it.

A clean handoff to implementation.

Either to our PIM/MDM Implementation practice, to your in-house team, or to a third-party SI. Strategy work that can only be executed by one vendor isn't strategy.

Buyers we hear from
most often:

CDOs and VPs of Data scoping enterprise-wide MDM ahead of a procurement cycle.

CTOs and VP Engineering trying to determine whether the current PIM is salvageable or a rip-and-replace is unavoidable.

VP Merchandising or Director of Product Data preparing for a multi-channel expansion that the current model won’t carry.

PIM/MDM Strategy & Consulting FAQs

No. We operate the major PIM and MDM platforms—and we know each one’s failure modes from inside the work, not from a sales deck. If the strategy work points toward a platform we don’t operate, we’ll say so. If two platforms are both viable, the recommendation comes down to your operation, not our preferences.

Strategy produces the target state; implementation builds it. Many customers run both with us; many use our strategy work and bring a different partner to implement. Either is fine, the deliverable is yours.

Readiness Assessment runs three to four weeks. Strategy and Blueprint engagements run eight to sixteen weeks depending on scope.
