'Scaling through Chaos.' What a title...
It was inspiring talking tech this week at Shoptalk - as ever. But aside from all the talk of endpoints and AI, there remains one fundmental problem that's troubling back #scaleups founders far and wide.
“Who should I hire next? At what level? What function? How should I organize a team?”
Don't take my word for it. Index Ventures - the same VC firm that propelled Zendesk, Sonos, Zuora, Elastic, Adyen and Farfetch amongst others to fame - has just published a book based on a study of 210 high-growth startups.
Martin Mignot found that issues relating to hiring, people and culture were the questions most troubling high-growth firms.
Gené Teare's write up hints at a lot of invaluable insights, preparing... "founders for changes to the early team... The idea is to build a mindset of competence over loyalty.”
Sounds to me like 'Scaling through Chaos' should top of the reading list for founders everywhere. It's certainly top of mine. https://lnkd.in/e9xuinQK
